I have a love/hate relationship with bread. Love Love Love it, the crustier the better, however it doesn’t really love me. I don’t always feel great if I eat a lot of white anything, so It is definitely a special occasion kind of thing and the bread has to be good, fresh and of course crusty.
This appetizer is a great kick off to your party. it gives great taste, texture and freshness to any event.
Preheat oven to 400
Serves 4
1 cup da Giulia Tomato Basil
1 loaf crusty bread sliced thin
1 tablespoon olive oil
salt and pepper
1 lb sliced mushrooms
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan
toast bread until slightly golden
in large skillet heat oil on medium and add mushrooms
saute for 10 minutes until cooked
remove from heat
add tomato basil and mix thoroughly
top each bread with heaping mushroom and tomato basil
top with parmesan cheese and basil
serve
